Who we are

MEGRA Signage is made by MTV Display Sdn Bhd (MEGRA), Lot 8986, Jalan Telok Gong, Pandamaran, 42000 Port Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. Questions: info-signage@megra.my or 603-3134 3399.

The TV app

The TV app plays the photos and videos that the TV's owner sends from signage.megra.my. It does not use a camera or a microphone, does not ask for your location, shows no advertising and never watches or counts the people in front of the screen.

What a TV sends to our server

A private key that the app makes when it first starts; the TV's model, Android version, app version, screen size, memory and storage; a few TV settings that matter for playing (for example whether the app starts by itself after a power cut); what it is playing, how downloads are going, short error codes and how long the app has been running; how many times and how long each photo or video was shown; and, only when the TV's owner or MEGRA support presses "Take a picture now", one picture of what the screen shows (only the newest picture is kept). The app does not send the TV's serial number, network card number (MAC) or Wi-Fi name.

What the website keeps

For each client: the company name, the login name and the password (stored scrambled, never readable), the last login time, the photos and videos they upload with their file names, their playlists, TV names, malls and kiosks, when each TV was online, and an e-mail address only if they enter one for e-mail alerts. The website does not keep internet addresses (IP): to stop password guessing and too many new accounts or TVs from one place, it keeps only a scrambled form for a short time. Our hosting company's servers may keep their own logs with internet addresses for security.

Signing in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google tells us your Google account number, your e-mail address, your name and that Google has confirmed the e-mail address. We keep only the account number (to know it is you next time) and the e-mail address (to show you who is logged in and to contact you about your account). We never see your Google password, Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account, and we share nothing from Google with anyone. We also keep the date you signed up and the date you accepted our Terms of Service. If you stop before creating the account, no account is made and nothing is added to our database.

Who can see it

Each client sees only their own TVs and files. MEGRA staff who look after the service can see them, and the newest screen picture, to help. We never sell or share this information and use it for no advertising.

How long we keep it

Until the client deletes it: Account → "Delete my account" deletes everything at once (see signage.megra.my/delete-account). While an account exists, older play counts and online times are removed automatically. Removing a TV deletes its screen picture. Daily safety backups (without the photos and videos) are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Keeping it safe

The website and the TVs talk only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Photos and videos are stored with Cloudflare R2 (Asia-Pacific), our storage provider: they are private and reached only through short-lived private links.
